Correction to section 7.5 of the rulebook, concerning the Isolation Phase and the reference to unformed movement.
Isolation Phase 7.5 (page 66)
The first paragraph originally reads:
Soldiers will usually surrender if placed in a hopeless situation, rather than fight to the last man. This possibility is handled in the Isolation & Surrender Phase of the Sequence of Play (although units can also surrender if they are forced to make an unformed move while surrender, see 4.2.6 Unformed Unit Movement)
This is clearly an error. The wording does not make sense as written, and the cited reference is incorrect. The correct reference is 4.2.5 Unformed Unit Movement.
The paragraph should read:
Soldiers will usually surrender if placed in a hopeless situation, rather than fight to the last man. This possibility is handled in the Isolation & Surrender Phase of the Sequence of Play (although units can also surrender if they are forced to make an unformed move while completely surrounded, see 4.2.5 Unformed Unit Movement)
The target of this reference is the 6th paragraph on page 47:
If forced to make an unformed move while completely surrounded by encircling enemy units and/or impassible terrain (no gaps wide enough to move through), the unit must immediately "surrender" — it is considered to be eliminated and is removed from the tabletop.
We would like to thank Paul McConnell and the other NB players from Omagh Wargames Club (Northern Ireland) for reporting this typo.
